Warrior Family Shield Build

First Responder and Active Duty warrior families gather to craft a fully functional Shield and gain resiliency.

Opening discussions focus on the "Warrior Family mindset". Discussions include but are not limited to Warrior families from a thousand years ago to the present day. We recognize the privilege to serve and the implied burden of responsibility and how families need to work together. The Shield will be a metaphor for their family ethos.

12 Teams will be provided components for a shield. 16 gauge steel shape, rivets and heavy leather. A 4' broadsword shield mount that

Teams prepare their shield for shaping. Each team shapes their shield and then paints it with their desired colors.

Teams enjoy a provided lunch and continue discussions.

Teams deep dive into defining "their warrior family ethos".

Shield straps are engraved with the the family name and the list of ethos.

Teams hand rivet their shield together.

Teams then wrap their broadsword shield mount handle with paracord
